Transparency & Financial

At Seaside Toolbox Academy, we are committed to stewarding every donation with integrity and transparency. As a registered nonprofit organization located in Bishopville, Maryland, we follow all state and federal requirements for financial reporting, charitable solicitation, and donor communication. Below you will find the disclosures and practices that guide our commitment to ethical financial management.

Our Commitment to Transparency

Seaside Toolbox Academy operates as a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to serving families and communities across Maryland. We believe that donors and stakeholders deserve clear, accessible information about how contributions are used to support our mission.

To honor that trust, we make our governing documents, financial statements, and tax filings available as required by law and strive to maintain the highest standards of accountability.

Maryland State Charitable Solicitation Disclosures

As required by the Maryland Solicitations Act:

A copy of the current financial statement of Seaside Toolbox Academy is available by writing to 11935 Worcester Hwy, Bishopville, MD 21813, USA or by calling (410) 641-1368.
Documents and information submitted under the Maryland Solicitations Act are also available, for the cost of postage and copies, from the Maryland Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis MD 21401, (410) 974-5534.

Federal (IRS) Tax-Exemption Transparency

Seaside Toolbox Academy is recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

In compliance with IRS public disclosure requirements, we make the following documents available upon request:

  • Our original Form 1023 (application for tax-exempt status)
  • Our most recent three years of Form 990 annual filings

Copies will be provided within 30 days of a written request.

Donation Acknowledgment Requirements

The IRS requires written acknowledgment for charitable contributions of $250 or more.
When donors make a qualifying donation, they will receive a written statement that includes:

  • The exact amount of the donation
  • A statement confirming whether any goods or services were provided in exchange
  • A good-faith estimate of the fair market value of any benefits received, if applicable

If no goods or services were provided, the statement will indicate that the donation is fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Quid Pro Quo Contribution Disclosures

For any donation over $75 where a donor receives something of value in return (such as a ticketed event, merchandise, or benefits package), Seaside Toolbox Academy will provide a written disclosure that includes:

  • A clear description of the goods or services provided
  • A good-faith estimate of their fair market value
  • A statement indicating that only the amount exceeding that value is tax-deductible

These disclosures help ensure donors understand the tax-deductible portion of their contribution.
