The heart of our work

We believe everyone deserves a shot at meaningful work. For over 20 years, we’ve watched students discover they’re capable of more than they imagined—whether they’re 16 or 60.

We’re here to inspire curiosity, confidence, and careers in the skilled trades. From fun, hands-on learning experiences that introduce kids to the tools of the trade to real community projects and employer partnerships, we’re building pathways that lead to lifelong opportunity!

Leaks in the Pipeline:

Understanding the Workforce Shortage

Across the country, the trades are facing a quiet crisis — and a powerful opportunity. By 2028, the U.S. will be short more than 3 million skilled trade workers, with plumbing among the hardest hit.

The average plumber today is over 55, and retirements are outpacing new apprentices entering the field. At the same time, nearly 60% of high school students say they’ve never been encouraged to consider a trade career, and only 1 in 20 parents would suggest it to their child. That means millions of good-paying, meaningful jobs are going unfilled — not because students aren’t capable, but because they were never shown the path.

At Seaside Toolbox Academy, we’re here to change that — to open the pipeline, spark curiosity early, and show young people that picking up a tool can change their lives.

55 Billion

Estimated annual loss in U.S. tax revenue from young people disconnected from school and work — untapped potential waiting to be built.

269 Million

Young people worldwide are not in school, work, or training — a global call to reimagine opportunity.

70%

Seven in ten employers report difficulty finding qualified workers to fill skilled trade roles.

5 : 2

For every five Baby Boomer trades workers retiring, only two younger candidates are entering the field.

Open the Toolbox

When we open the toolbox, we open doors — for kids discovering their first spark of curiosity and for adults ready to build a new path. Through hands-on learning, real-world training, and community outreach, we’re helping people of all ages gain the skills and confidence to succeed in the trades.
